Paul J. Schmidt, founder and creative video strategist for the UnoDeuce Multimedia, recently sat down with leahmonet llc CEO Leah Ellis for an interview with #entrepreneur52.
UnoDeuce Multimedia is a Lansing-based video production and storytelling agency that documents why organizations do what they do and how they make a positive impact on their community, and #entrepreneur52 is Schmidt’s Instagram interview program on his #IGTV channel. Ellis discusses the personal struggles that inspired her to found leahmonet llc and create the futures collection of customized planning notebooks that help students experiencing conditions such as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder organize and track educational material more effectively for their unique needs. Ellis also spoke with #entrepreneur52 on the best pieces of business advice she has received, the ways she pivoted her company during the pandemic, how her business is rooted in her spirituality, the importance of not risking the integrity of your company by moving too fast and who she looks up to in the business world. Spoiler: The answer to that last one is Ellen DeGeneres.
“Ellen struggled with a lot of things in her life, and I watched her on the David Letterman show, the one that’s on Netflix,” Ellis told Schmidt. “She was just so candid about the different struggles she’s been through coming out, being a lesbian and especially with her childhood abuse that happened in her home. I just appreciated the fact that she explained it and discussed it. … It’s a process you have to go through when you’re dealing with trauma, so I really just connected with her and her bright spirit.”
